iMagic Nexa ("we", "us", "our") operates the iMagic Nexa app and website at imagicnexa.com. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. It applies to everyone who uses the app or website (the "Service").
1. Information we collect
- Account information: email address, display name, password hash, and (optionally) a profile avatar you upload. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture from Google.
- Profile information: the profile names you create within your account and whether a profile is a Kids profile.
- Viewing activity: titles you save, continue-watching progress, watch sessions, and search terms - used to power your list, resume playback, and recommendations.
- Device and usage: approximate country (derived from IP), browser type, device identifier, and login timestamps - used for security, device-limit enforcement, and infrastructure capacity.
- Payment information: handled entirely by Paystack. We store only a transaction reference, plan, and status. We never see or store your card number, CVV, or expiration date.
- Support communications: messages you send us through the in-app chat or by email.
- Notifications: if you enable push notifications, we store the browser-issued push subscription so we can deliver them.
2. How we use your information
- Provide, maintain, and improve the Service.
- Authenticate you and keep your account secure.
- Remember your preferences and personalize recommendations.
- Process subscriptions, renewals, and cancellations.
- Send transactional emails you asked for (account confirmation, password reset, receipts, subscription reminders).
- Respond to your support requests.
- Detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, and technical issues.
- Comply with legal obligations.
3. Legal bases for processing (GDPR)
- Contract: to provide the Service you signed up for.
- Legitimate interests: security, fraud prevention, service improvement.
- Consent: for optional features like push notifications and marketing communications (where used).
- Legal obligation: tax and accounting records for payments.
4. Who we share information with
We share personal information only with the vendors that make the Service work:
- Hosting and database provider - stores your account, profiles, and activity data.
- Paystack - processes card payments.
- Email delivery provider - sends transactional emails on our behalf.
- Google - only if you choose "Sign in with Google". Google's use of the information you provide is governed by their privacy policy.
- Law enforcement / regulators - only where required by valid legal process.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We do not use it for third-party advertising.
5. Data retention
We keep account data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, we remove personal information within 30 days, except where we're required to keep it (for example, payment records for tax purposes). Aggregated, non-identifying analytics may be retained indefinitely.
6. Your rights
Depending on your location, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you.
- Request correction of inaccurate information.
- Request deletion of your account and data.
- Object to or restrict certain processing.
- Port your data to another service.
- Withdraw consent for optional processing at any time.

7. Children
The Service is not intended for children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your country). The Kids profile mode filters to family-friendly titles and requires a PIN to enter or exit, but a parent or guardian must create and manage the account.
8. Security
We use HTTPS everywhere, hash passwords, store payment references only, apply row-level security to your data, and limit each account to two active devices. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information from unauthorized access, loss, or misuse.
9. International transfers
Our vendors may process your information in countries other than your own. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards (such as Standard Contractual Clauses) for such transfers.
